We provide all music. Members who want to practise at home can find all the parts (together with rehearsal recordings) on the website. Just ask Mark to provide you with a login to the members’ section.
Who can join?
Come and join us! No audition is necessary!
open to all-comers,
run by its members, and
creates parts for all players (beginners to advanced).
As far as we know, this is unique amongst community orchestras.
When and where does MRCO rehearse?
Sundays 6.00pm – 8.00pm during term time (with a break for light refreshments).
St. Matthew’s Primary School, 19 Norfolk Street, Cambridge CB1 2LD.
The school has full disabled access and facilities. Limited parking is available on request.
Who leads the orchestra?
The orchestra is conducted mostly by Michael Copley, sometimes by Mark Tinkler and sometimes (when we are lucky) by a guest conductor.
All tutors have enhanced CRB/DBS checks.
What does it cost?
Members pay a small subscription to help with costs of admin and room hire based on the following annual rates:
Family group: £75 per term, £200 per year
Adult: £50 per term, £135 per year
Child: £25 per term, £67.50 per year
You are welcome to come and try a couple of sessions with no obligation.
MRCO members are determined that there should be no financial restriction to anyone joining – and so we operate a ‘pay what you can – or not’ scheme – talk to Jennie our Administrator.
How do I join?
If you are interested, drop an email to Mark Tinkler, or just turn up with your instrument (together with a music stand if you have one) on a Sunday evening.
